OPEN HOUSE, HOMECOMING & 60TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION!

Was on Sunday, October 18
everyone was invited to come to an Open House to see and tour the Center; if you there were pleasant surprises for all. Volunteers Shirley Strope, Cindy Reichwage and Brooke Stewart planned the day.

It was a Homecoming for everyone – volunteers, staff, board members, adopters and their pets, and others – who have ever been a part of the ACSPCA. We’d love to have all the people who have ever dedicated some part of their life to the ACSPCA was welcome to be here.

And, it’s a 60th Anniversary Celebration. The Allen County SPCA was formed in 1949!An historical time-line was researched by volunteers Cindy Reichwage and Linda Furman who provided a visual representation of it.

There was music, refreshments for people and pets and activities for dogs and children. Pets were welcome to come costumed. A photographer was available to take your pet’s picture for a small charge. It wasl be a fun afternoon with old and new friends.

Anyone was welcome to bring their 4–pawed pet along, especially if it’s been adopted from the ACSPCA, as long as it’s on a leash, is current with its shots, and is people and dog friendly.

The “Friends Garden” was dedicated. Master Gardeners are planned this special garden with a dogwood, pussy willow, cat mint and other special plants.

And, of course, donations of pet food and supplies from our Wish List was welcomed.

Thank you, all for attending!!!
